Account Executive
Job Description:

We are looking to add an Account Executive to our New York office.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee account coordinators and interns on various assignments.
- Participate and contribute to the development of account plans and ideas where/when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts with a proven track record of successfully pitching local, regional and national print, broadcast and online/social media.
- Proactively identify media relations challenges and recommend appropriate course-correcting solutions.
- Work with a team to execute media events such as press conferences, briefings and media tours.
- Produce, edit and manage written account communication materials including press releases/social media releases, fact sheets, Q&As, client correspondence and reports.
- Report program results (both traditional and digital/social media) to agency management and client partner.
- Create budget status reports and budget trackers.
- Lend creativity through ongoing contribution of unique ideas to clients and in agency brainstorms.
- Support digital/social marketing tactics (e.g., create blogger contact lists and pitches, post video/photos to community sites, manage elements of social media strategy, etc.).
- Proactively provide creative thinking/new ideas around digital/social media engagement as it relates to ongoing trends.
- When appropriate, play a role in contributing to community management (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, blog, etc.) on behalf of client and agency.
- Understand, develop and articulate social media monitoring measurement reports and results.
- Understand agency’s business, demonstrate ability to articulate how Catalyst differentiates itself and communicate how this benefits clients.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and staff.
- Sports experience and event coordination/media relations is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of agency and/or corporate public relations experience, specifically working with consumer brands, is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as senior day-to-day contact for clients, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of clients’ business
- Lead strategy sessions on new and existing accounts and develop strategy for implementing successful client programs
- Troubleshoot clients’ problems as they arise and provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis

Director, Social Media Strategy

The Director, Social Media Strategy is responsible for the successful development and management of digital and social media strategies and implementation for client brands. Managing / mentoring members of the strategy team in applying industry best practices in online community management. The Director, Social Media Strategy understands consumer marketing, and has a passion for digital trends and innovation - combined with a sound understanding of consumers, social media and brand. Experience of the social media world and of word-of-mouth marketing is required.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the flawless and timely delivery of Catalyst strategy deliverables - including issue resolution internally and externally. He/she also contributes to task management, process improvement, tools and training for team members
- Hands-on experience with digital and traditional communication disciplines and how it relates to brand goals (e.g. tweets, email blasts, Facebook posts, Foursquare, mobile, etc)
- Provide a strategic POV (client and consumer perspective) on creative, functional, and technical approach for client solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of a project
- Continually monitor new technological and creative developments in the online industry and develops agency POVs for clients and colleagues that inspire actionable strategies
- Work with client services team to identify key opportunities with both existing and prospective clients
- Help educate and inspire Catalyst clients and account team members about best practices and emerging trends
- Strong knowledge of and interest in social media

Responsibilities:
- Lead strategy-focused brainstorms, with aim of directing staff to produce ideas with relevance to intended target audiences

- Participates in and contributes to the new business activities of the agency, as required
- Work closely with key client partners to effectively articulate ideas, consumer insights and unique selling propositions for their business
- Ability to design and provides concepts for projects/campaigns to meet approved strategic marketing objectives for key client engagements
- Develop and draft plans, briefs, decks and copy
- Provide counsel as the DCD on a portfolio of brands, with responsibility for developing and applying consumer/trend insights to the strategic programming for each distinct brand using partnerships with Consumer Insights and Brand Planning teams
- Works closely with account services as a liaison to the creative department, helping the creative department sell their best marketing solutions to account directors and the client
- Assist account teams to work effectively and in the best interests of client(s) maximizing the agency’s strategic resources to enhance client services
- Sells creative internally or to clients at the EVP or account director’s request
- Makes recommendations to the EVP, Strategic Planning for creative positions and freelance services. Leads certain creative projects and team members with a hands-on supervisory approach while facilitating a collaborative team environment
- Ensures budgets, deadlines, etc. are complete, accurate and followed
- Provides clear/objective critiques of creative work during development
- Makes presentations internally and /or with senior level clients
- Remains current and communicates industry trends and techniques
- Has working knowledge of all software programs needed to fulfill approved creative concepts
Qualifications:
- Must have a proven successful track record in developing every phase of program development (strategy, creative and tactical implementation)
- Excellent writing skills a must; need to be able to crisply articulate concepts
- Documented success facilitating creative sessions
- Engaging presenter who has successfully played a key role in new business or client presentations
- Ability to conceptualize and turn a seed of an idea into a fully integrated, successful program concept
- Agency experience working with consumer brands
- Must have working knowledge of existing and emerging trends in sports, style, music, media/entertainment, youth and pop culture
- Proven track record of conceiving, planning and executing strategies
- 7-10 years of public relations/advertising experience in an agency setting, working on interactive projects such as client web sites, online advertising, social media, video manipulation
- Must have at least four years experience in a senior/managerial position (art director, lead copywriter, ACD, CD)
- Must possess a strong command of the digital and social media space with great concepts, practices, procedures and technologies
- Experience and understanding of user experience and information architecture principles and process (utilizing site maps, page flows, wire frames and prototypes to guide design concepts) a huge plus
- Knowledge of website development in Flash and other technologies is a huge plus
- Must be able to leverage online ideas and technologies with an eye to integrate a big idea through multiple mediums
- Ability to grasp complex concepts easily
- Work well under pressure, juggling multiple projects and deadlines
