Spiller has been named Grand Marshal for the SUBWAY&#0174; Jalape&ntilde;o 250 Powered By Coca-Cola NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Friday night, July 2.</p>
<p>"As Grand Marshal, Spiller will utter the most famous words in racing, giving the command of: 'Gentlemen, start your engines!" said Track President Robin Braig.</p>
<p>"I appreciate the opportunity to be part of such an exciting event at NASCAR's greatest venue with my friends from SUBWAY Restaurants and Coca-Cola," said Spiller. "This is my first race and I am sure it will be a night of action-packed excitement and a great way to kick off the Fourth of July weekend."</p>
<p>Spiller, of Lake Butler, Fla., is a rookie running back for the Buffalo Bills.  He was an All-American at Clemson University and was selected ninth overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. SUBWAY&#0174; Restaurants is also a primary sponsor of Carl Edwards and the No. 99 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Fusion. The SUBWAY&#0174; colors will adorn the No. 99 car Saturday night, July 3 under the lights at DIS for the 52<sup> nd</sup> annual Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.</p>

To help commemorate its 200<sup>th</sup> anniversary, The Hartford announced today the launch of The Hartford 200 program which seeks peoples' personal stories "from the road."</p>
<p>Now through June 15, consumers who feel like they live in their car - whether driving 200 miles per month, or even 200 miles per day - are encouraged to submit their stories at <a href="http://www.thehartford200.com/" target="_blank">www.TheHartford200.com</a>. The best story will win an incredible grand prize that includes a new Chevrolet Equinox, a hometown visit from The Hartford-sponsored NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://hartfordauto.thehartford.com/Hartford-RCR-Racing/Drivers/clint-bowyer.shtml" target="_blank">Clint Bowyer</a></span>, a VIP race experience, and recognition in a special print advertisement in their hometown.</p>
<p>In addition to a short written essay, entries may include photography and video. There will be five finalists chosen and consumers will be asked to vote on who they think has the best story. The finalists will be selected by a combination of consumer vote and a blue ribbon panel comprised of <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://hartfordauto.thehartford.com/Hartford-RCR-Racing/About-Hartford-Racing/richard-childress-racing.shtml" target="_blank">Richard Childress Racing</a></span> drivers Bowyer and veteran Jeff Burton, team owner Richard Childress and The Hartford executives. The four runner-ups will receive a $200 gas card and a signed memorabilia package.</p>

<p>In addition, customers purchasing the official NASCAR products will have the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes to win a trip to Las Vegas for NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series Champions Week, where they will experience special VIP events and interact with NASCAR drivers and celebrity guests. (June 1, 2009) </strong></strong>- Thirteen students from across the United States have been selected to participate in the 2009 NASCAR Diversity Internship Program that starts today and gives minority college students the opportunity to complete 10-week, paid summer internships within the NASCAR industry.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>More than 200 students have participated in the program since its inception in 2000. These interns have gained experience working in marketing, engineering, public relations, licensing and various other areas. Participation in the program has led to full-time positions in the industry for a number of past interns.</p>
<p>"The NASCAR Diversity Internship Program has introduced dozens of students from diverse backgrounds to professional opportunities in NASCAR," said Marcus Jadotte, NASCAR's managing director of public affairs, who oversees the diversity department. "The program has played an important role in NASCAR's efforts to attract the best and brightest to our industry."</p>
<p>The program features internships offered by NASCAR offices, sponsors, licensees, teams, tracks and broadcast partners. In addition to NASCAR corporate offices in Daytona Beach, Charlotte, and Concord, the following companies are participating in 2009: Catalyst Public Relations, Daytona International Speedway, International Speedway Corporation (ISC), Joe Gibbs Racing, Just Marketing International, Octagon, The SPEED Channel, and The 909 Group.</p>
<p>The current intern class began their NASCAR experience with an orientation session during the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. The group visited the NASCAR Research and Development Center in Concord, the Sam Bass NASCAR Art Gallery, Roush Fenway Racing headquarters, attended the NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge presented by Craftsman, and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. In addition, the group met with a number of key people in the NASCAR industry including NASCAR Sprint Cup Series crew members, drivers, and NASCAR executives.</p>
<p>Each year, the internships are available to college sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students across the country. To be eligible, students must be in good standing with their school and community and have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average.</p>
<p>In addition to the internship program, NASCAR awards diversity scholarships in tribute to NASCAR legend Wendell Scott, has an at-track diversity mentorship program and a college tour that visits historically black colleges and universities and Hispanic-serving institutions.</p>

<p>DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Subway and Coca-Cola will team up to sponsor the 250-mile NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Friday night, July 3 at Daytona International Speedway, Track President Robin Braig announced.</p>
<p>The 100-lap event will be known as the Subway Jalapeno 250 Powered By Coca-Cola.</p>

<p>DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (July 21, 2008) - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) are arming NASCAR fans and motorists nationwide with fuel-saving car care tips to help Americans maximize fuel economy and improve the environment.<!--more--></p>
<p align="left">A few easy-to-follow tips can help motorists to attain better fuel mileage, which will, in turn, ease the stress on their pocketbooks and decrease emissions. Motorists can see anywhere from a four to ten percent increase in gas mileage by performing these maintenance steps, which can mean saving up to 45 cents per gallon with today's average gas prices.</p>
<p>"You don't have to be a car expert to maximize your vehicle's performance and get better gas mileage," said Brett Bodine, director of cost and research at NASCAR's Technical Institute, which trains and educates professionals to compete in NASCAR's three national series. "By performing simple maintenance, motorists can save money, preserve their vehicles, and help the environment."</p>
<p>Following are the Top Five Car Care Tips from the NASCAR and the EPA:</p>
<p>1. CHECK AND ROTATE TIRES</p>
<p>NASCAR teams may go through up to 12 sets of Goodyear Eagle tires on a given weekend.  For the average motorist, replacing tires comes about every three years. Tire pressure changes with changing temperatures, so it's important to check tire pressure after weather changes. An under-inflated tire not only reduces the life of a tire, but can cause vehicle gas mileage to plummet by as much as 15 percent. Finally, motorists should rotate tires roughly every 5,000-10,000 miles to extend tread life. Car owners should check their owner's manual for exact intervals. A good rule is to rotate tires after every oil change.</p>
<p>2. CHANGE THE AIR FILTER</p>
<p>The air filter prevents dust and other impurities from getting into the combustion chambers of the cylinders, resulting in wasted gas and weaker engine performance. According to the Car Care Council, replacing a clogged filter can improve mileage by as much as 10 percent, which translates to approximately 15 cents per gallon. Motorists should change the air filter every six months, and more frequently in dusty locations.</p>
<p>3. CLEAN THE CABIN</p>
<p>Extra weight in the car reduces fuel mileage by as much as two percent per 100 pounds.  Discard the debris that's been hibernating all winter. Remove unnecessary cargo from the trunk and be sure to check the air pressure in your spare tire. Most likely it will need air; motorists are encouraged to add air the next time they fill the gas tank.</p>
<p>4. CHECK THE BATTERY AND SPARK PLUGS</p>
<p>A NASCAR driver can switch to a backup battery during a race, but motorists don't have that option in consumer vehicles. High heat is brutal on a car's battery. During summer, a battery's best defense against hot temperatures is making sure it stays fully charged. To prevent battery failure, make sure battery posts and connections are secure and free of corrosion. Clean battery terminals with a wire brush and baking soda. Have a professional technician perform checks on the vehicle's battery and spark plugs. Spark plugs fire as many as 3 million times every 1,000 miles. That's a lot of heat and wear and tear in the form of electrical and chemical erosion. Dirty spark plugs cause misfiring, which wastes fuel by as much as 30 percent.</p>
<p>5. CHECK THE RADIATOR AND GAS CAPS</p>
<p>A snug radiator cap helps raise the cooling system pressure, giving added protection against boil-overs. Radiator caps don't last forever, and must be replaced when the cooling system is flushed. With gas at record prices, be sure there's a tight seal on the gas cap, too, to prevent that high-priced octane from vaporizing. Nearly 20 percent of vehicles have gas caps that are damaged, loose or missing altogether, wasting some 147 million gallons of gas every year.</p>
